The Asgard Motorcycle Storage Range - From 2009 onwards
Our sheds have always been groundbreaking. Asgard was the first to create so many storage units, and arguably the initiator of so many domestic markets in the storage industry.
Back in 2009, Asgard launched the first of their Motorcycle storage range… But why?
The First Asgard Motorcycle Shed
In 2009, our very own Andy Heath was very much in the world of furniture design, as well as dabbling in Asgard.
“Part of my remit was graphic design. And over the years, I formed a great relationship with one of our suppliers, who happened to be a big motorcycle rider, and (Dave) wandered into the factory one day, and suggested we look at a bike store. Boom! That was it, we adapted our garden sheds, stuck his motorbike in one, made a few tweaks, and we had a whole new product”.
“It was that simple. As it happens, I had a few contacts, so we had the unit assessed by insurance companies, and suddenly we had the only Police Preferred, Insurance Approved, 100% British-designed and made storage unit on the market. We then just increased the range as we needed bigger units”. Of course, we had a few famous faces such as Ewan McGregor taking a shine to them, and the rest is history”.
Needless to say, a lot of companies have now copied our original design, and many of these manufacturers claim to be approved, but look closely, and it's the locks that are approved, not the shed. Our motorcycle range of storage units is one of our Police Preferred specification sheds. Super tough and featuring enhanced security features such as 5-point locking. Reinforced doors and shrouded lock mechanisms. As with all our approved sheds, this is Loss Prevention Tested, Secured By Design, Insurance Approved, and Locksmiths Approved.
