Ross Cullen & Asgard Bike Storage

Why Asgard is the Best Metal Shed for Bike Storage -

Professional BMX Rider Ross Cullen:

When professional BMX rider Ross Cullen needed secure bike storage at his new house, there was only one brand he'd consider: Asgard. This is his second Asgard shed, and this time he chose our brand new Annexe Plus E.

Ross knows bikes. He knows what they're worth, how much punishment they take, and what it costs when things go wrong. So when it comes to protecting his BMX collection, he doesn't mess about with substandard storage.

Why buy a second Asgard Shed?

Ross's first Asgard was our Secured By Design,  5ft 2in x 9ft Centurion, a brilliant shed that stored his bikes and had room for a motorbike, too. He opted for our installation service back then, and the shed served him well.

When Ross moved house, he needed bike storage again. Even though his new place has a garage, Ross had other plans for that space.

"I chose an Asgard to store my bikes securely at my new house! Even though I have a garage, I like it to be a larger space for maintenance, not clogged up full of bikes, so the Asgard shed is a perfect solution!"

That's smart thinking. Your garage becomes a proper workshop when it's not rammed full of bikes. You've got room to move, space to work, and you can actually find your tools.

Why the Annexe Plus E?

The Annexe Plus E is one of our high security bike storage models - an extended version of our popular Annexe bike shed. Ross wanted to try it out, and being big on secure storage, he knew it'd be up to the job.

It's built to store 3-4 bikes comfortably (depending on bike size), with the same Police Preferred Specification security as all our sheds. Made from reinforced galvanised steel, weighing 176kg, with five-point locking and an integral metal base that can be bolted down, for even more security.

What makes the Annexe Plus E different is the electrical mounting plates built into each side. Perfect for charging e-bikes overnight, or for adding lighting and power tools if you're working on your bikes. There are even rubber-grommeted wiring access holes for safely feeding power cables through.

Self-Assembled Bike Storage

This time around, Ross decided to tackle the build himself rather than using our installation service.

"This is my second Asgard and the quality still baffles me, not only that the ease of building! It took us no time, and it was a breeze to build!"

That's what modular design does. Everything's engineered to fit together properly because we design and manufacture it all in-house. The instructions are clear, the panels line up, and you don't need specialist tools.

Even our larger sheds can be built by two people in a few hours. Small sheds like the Annexe Plus E? Even quicker.

The best metal shed for bike storage

So what makes Asgard the best metal shed for serious cyclists and riders?

Security that actually works
Ross has invested serious money in his BMX bikes. The last thing he needs is some lightweight shed that a thief can break into with a screwdriver. Asgard sheds feature five-point locking systems, drill-resistant locks, internal deadbolts, and reinforced everything. They're Secured by Design (Police Preferred) and LPCB certified.

Weather protection
Galvanised steel construction means weather and rust-resistant. Our discreet ventilation system keeps condensation down, so your bikes stay dry even in typical British weather. No damp frames, no seized components, no rust.

Built to last
Ross's first Centurion is still going strong. These sheds are backed by a 10-year warranty because we know they'll last for decades. You're not replacing this every few years when cheaper alternatives fall apart.

100% Made in Britain
Everything's designed and manufactured in our Yorkshire factory. Welsh steel with 30% recycled content, built by people who've been doing this for years. That's why the quality is consistent.

What Ross says

"Asgard is the only place I'll be shopping to look after my bikes and outdoor equipment from now on. Top quality from a local UK company, you can't beat it!"

When a professional rider who depends on his bikes for his livelihood trusts Asgard, that tells you everything you need to know.

Small sheds vs large sheds: Getting the right size

If you're trying to work out whether you need small sheds or something larger, think about:

How many bikes?

  • 1-2 bikes: Access Plus E, standard Annexe
  • 3-4 bikes: Annexe Plus E, Access Plus
  • 5-8 bikes: Gladiator, Centurion

What else are you storing?
If it's just bikes, small sheds work brilliantly. If you're adding tools, helmets, protective gear, or garden equipment, size up.

Future-proofing
Ross went for the Annexe Plus E, knowing it gives him flexibility. Got room for his current bikes plus space if he adds more. That's smart planning.

Front garden bike storage
Many customers use our smaller sheds for front garden bike storage. The compact footprint works well on drives and front areas where space is limited.

If you're considering front garden bike storage, look for:

  • Discreet size - small sheds that don't dominate the space
  • Smart appearance - these sheds will be visible, so aesthetics matter
  • Genuine security - front gardens are more accessible to thieves
  • Weather resistance - front areas often get the worst of the weather

The Annexe Plus E, Access Plus E, and standard Annexe all work well for front garden installations. They're compact enough not to look out of place, smart enough to enhance your property, and secure enough that you can sleep easy.

Getting started
Whether you're a professional rider like Ross or just someone who wants the best metal shed for bike storage, Asgard has you covered.

Our range goes from compact small sheds perfect for a couple of bikes, right up to large commercial units that can store entire fleets. All built to the same standard, all made in Britain, all backed by our 10-year warranty.

Ross chose Asgard twice. That's the kind of endorsement that speaks louder than any marketing.
