Demand Soars for Yorkshire-Made Sheds as Asgard Expands Production
Press release 2014
Bradford-based manufacturer Asgard is experiencing unprecedented demand for its high-security metal sheds, according to Sales and Marketing Director Andy Heath, who says the company’s reputation for quality is driving record interest from customers across the UK and beyond.
“We’re very busy right now,” Heath said. “Customers love the products and the level of service we offer. They recommend us all the time—and the result is everyone seems to want an Asgard shed at the moment.”
While the surge in demand is a positive sign, it has brought operational challenges. The company is focused on scaling production without compromising the high standards that underpin its brand.
Built on Reputation and Quality
Heath credits Asgard’s success to the strength of its reputation, built over many years through consistent delivery of durable, secure storage solutions.
“We’re known for high-quality, secure products designed and built here in Yorkshire,” he explained. “It’s taken years to build that reputation—and just as long to maintain it.”
That commitment to quality is reinforced by a highly experienced manufacturing team, whose rigorous attention to detail ensures that every product meets strict standards.
Made in Yorkshire
All Asgard sheds are designed in Bradford and manufactured in West Yorkshire. The company’s design engineers collectively bring around 300 years of experience in metalwork design and manufacturing, allowing them to continually refine and improve the product range.
Every shed is made to order—an intentional choice designed to maintain full control over production quality.
“We don’t believe in sourcing from overseas,” Heath said. “It’s important to support the British economy and protect manufacturing jobs here.”
Used by Elite Athletes
Asgard’s reputation has attracted a number of high-profile customers, including Olympic cyclists such as Elinor Barker, Helen Scott, and Laura and Jason Kenny.
Their involvement has gone beyond owning a shed, directly influencing product development. Heath revealed that Asgard redesigned one of its bike storage units for Elinor Barker, incorporating features for hanging spare frames and storing everyday bikes—innovations that are now standard in the range.
“Customers who use our products every day are our best critics,” he added.
Innovation Driving Growth
To meet growing demand, Asgard is investing in its manufacturing capabilities, including a new paint plant that will increase output while maintaining product quality.
The company is also overhauling its logistics operations to improve efficiency and delivery times.
Recent product launches include:
- A bike hanger capable of storing up to nine bikes within a standard UK parking space
- The Garage Guardian, an overhead storage unit designed to maximise unused garage space
- The Garrison range, the largest shed in Asgard’s portfolio
“These innovations are about solving real problems for customers,” Heath said. “We listen closely to feedback and build products around real-world needs.”
Expanding Beyond the UK
Asgard has also begun expanding internationally, with its export division securing its first large overseas order.
“The future is bright,” Heath said. “We’re seeing strong interest from abroad, which opens up exciting opportunities for growth.”
Facing the Competition
Despite its success, Asgard faces increasing competition—particularly from imported products marketed as UK-made.
“There are plenty of copies out there,” Heath noted. “Some are brought in from overseas and sold as British-made, which they’re not.”
However, he remains confident that customers can distinguish between genuine quality and lower-cost alternatives.
“In the end, customers make up their own minds—and quality always stands out.”
Looking Ahead
With continued investment, product innovation, and expanding market reach, Asgard appears well-positioned for sustained growth.
“We’ve got more new products in the pipeline and plenty happening behind the scenes,” Heath said. “It’s shaping up to be a very busy year.”
