The Grand Depart 2014

As many of you are aware, here at Asgard Secure Steel Storage, we love cycling. What we love even more now is that the legendary Le Tour De France is not only coming to the UK, but our home county, Yorkshire. We really couldn’t be more excited that the race will be taking place on our very own doorstep, and will follow through some or Yorkshire’s most iconic landmarks.

Hotels for the event have been fully booked for some time now, and with the professional cyclists coming over to test the routes, their comments are getting us even more excited. Marcel Kittel and the Giant-Shimano team have been testing the Yorkshire routes and their comments are leading us towards an exciting race.

“On the descents when you ride through the more lonely roads in the middle of nowhere they are very narrow and very small with stone walls on both sides, so [when] a very nervous Tour de France peloton fighting for the yellow jersey passes by there can be a very dangerous situation.” - Marcel Kittel

The published two-stage route is going to prove a serious test for the world’s elite. So what is the complete route?

Stage 1Leeds – Harrogate (190km)
