A quality product that gives you the feeling your stuff's going to be safe Review by mike pears

Ordered this to store 2 x expensive bikes, mainly to make more room in my office.

I personally think 3 bikes is a bit of a squeeze especially if they are you pride and joy's, 3 will fit as long as you are not too precious about your paint and/or are extremely careful at your loading and unloading.

Making the concrete base was the hardest part, recommend you get a cement mixer and don't mix by hand like I did!

So on to the product, is a very nicely made steel shed, you can imagine that any attack on this shed will take a significant amount of time to gain access and cause so much noise if attacked by a disc cutter/angle grinder/saw etc that it won't be subtle and someone's going to notice.

I did build this shed on my own, i wouldn't advise this as it gets a bit heavy and i ached somewhat afterwards - stick to the instructions, its a 2 person build.

Read the instructions and you won't go wrong, all panels are marked, build in the stated order, get a decent set of bits for your battery driver/drill, it's possible to do with a hand screwdriver but you are guaranteed to get some severe blisters - key here is USE a battery drill driver.

Most of the screws are self tapping metal screws into manufactured pilot holes, some of the holes need a bit of opening outso make sure you've got a decent set of HSS drill bits as well.

The model I purchased allowed for the doors to go on the left or the right, although the instructions only showed on one side, it's logical and you just flip the blanking panel.

The brown is a good colour as it nicely blends in with my fence and trees and certainly is descrete.

So the key to success are correct/decent tools and have 2 of you do the build.

Hello Mike

A great, detailed review thanks. You are correct, a power drill is a definite! With ref to the holes, its key that the base you put the shed on is flat and level, without a flat base, there will be lining up issues with holes - most commonly with the front panels. We include shims in all installation packs supplied with the sheds - just in case your base is not quite level. If the holes don't appear to line up, just pop some shims/packing pieces under the unit and everything should line up perfectly.

Great product good service, but COME ON ASGARD think outside of the box – make some new sizes, this was not quite what I wanted so the customer has to compromise. That in mind, it is an excellent shed.

Reply from Asgard

Hi Baz

We are unable to make custom size sheds in our factory, our machines can only make certain panels, and these are done in batches - This is how we keep our costs as low as possible. Each time we change certain products, we have to notify the Loss Certification Board and have our products retested, and/or reset all of our machines. So, small one off designs can't be done for a realistic price. Thanks for your review. Asgard

Too heavy for us to build Review by Mr Shaw

Too heavy for us to put together as two seniors – I wish that had been made more clear to us. Had to pay a handy man to put together. Dissapointed with the build experiance - the shed is very good quality and seems very secure.

Reply from Asgard

Hi - Yes the units can sometimes seem intimidating to build, our units can weigh a lot - This unit is Cira 22 stone in weight. Our units will always require care when building. however each shed does come with fully illustrated instructions, so hopefully your Handyman made light work of the build. Thanks Asgard.

solid shed but plastic handle not sturdy Review by Vanessa Morris

We have had the shed for a couple of months and use it once a week for our community garden project. The plastic handle has already come off, as the mechanism was quite stiff, and it is 'designed to sheer off if approached with force'.
*Please be prepared to get your own metal handle to replace it.* We keep our new metal handle in a nearby box, it is not attached permanently, but it works fine as a replacement.

Other than that I would recommend this shed.

Reply from Asgard

Hi Thanks for the review the sheer off handle is as you say designed to sheer/ break under force. Should you find the handle damaged, it normally indicates an attempted break-in. This handle design makes it much harder for any would-be thief to get into the shed, yet it allows the rightful owner access via the key.

Hopefully, that clears that up.

Thanks
Andy

Excellent product providing assured security when left unattended. Fairly easy to assemble with two pars of hands on initial fitting of panels.

Hi Dennis,

Many thanks for reviewing your Annexe garden shed - Police and Insurance approved* the Annexe is a reinforced, heavy-duty metal shed - designed for high-value items - check the videos on the High-Security page for more information and a demonstration of attempted breakins.

Pleased with the product - eventually Review by Aussie

Now that I have assembled the shed, I am very pleased with it. It is extremely sturdy. My regret is that I did not pay for assembly. Whether I was unlucky in the parts that I received but it was very frustrating to put together. I followed the instructions exactly. The screw holes did not align sufficiently well no matter how much effort I put into pushing the panels together. This meant that the screws often tilted towards the adjacent panel so it was impossible to tighten the screws with an ordinary screwdriver (electric or manual). It is disingenuous to indicate (as the instructions do) that a simple screwdriver is sufficient for assembly. I had to purchase a pivoting adapter for my electric drill. With this, I was able to complete the assembly.

Hi Aussie

It's worth checking out our installation pages if an assembly is tricky - Holes not lining up is 99.9% of the time an uneven base. Inside the installation pack you will find "shims" these have been included to pack up parts of the shed if your base is not level - All Asgard sheds must be on a flat level surface - if they are not - i.e. on grass etc, the base will not be level and the holes won;t line up. Forcing the shed together will result in the screws going in at an angle, and twisting the shed - which will mean the locks might not line up correctly.

I hope that helps

Andy

fabulous purchase Review by renie b

I am very happy with our purchase. we did exensive research and weighed up pros and cons of the alternatives. we back onto fields so have problems with small animals getting into our shed; although this was a bit smaller and a bit more expensive, it was the best choice we could have made. no need to step into the shed at all: everything is within reach. no wasted space. bought some plastic shelving that ensured we filled every single inch of space.

delightful. worth every penny

Hi

Great shed review - thanks for taking the time to write one. The Annexe is perfect for remote locations and open spaces, heavy-duty reinforced construction and approved locks - certainly enough to keep the thieves at bay and as for rodents and animals !?!? no chance - inside out construction and a heavy-duty integral all-metal floor take care of those!

Thanks

Andy

Used to store outside equipment this is excellent quality and very easy to assemble. It's also easy to move in it's component parts which is a huge bonus. Not cheap but great value for money and withstands all elements.

Thanks Mary - value for money is what we aim for.
