Customer Reviews - Metal Bike Shed for 29ers
Unfortunately, I'd never thought I'd need a secure bike store until that dark night last autumn when whilst I was sat in the kitchen after a ride, some pond life broke into my shed and stole my pride and joy from right under my nose. In the days that followed I lived in fear of a repeat visit and the whole experience undermined my confidence - I felt very vulnerable.
Allowed me to sleep easy again - knowing the bikes are safe Review by Quarryman
Until that is I discovered Asgard and the 29er secure bike store. I didn't hesitate to buy one as I was reassured by the sold secure ratings and the online video showing how tough these things are to get into.
Once it arrived I set to building it and it was very straightforward with the use of an electric screwdriver a must. It would have been easier to assemble with two people, but i did manage on my own (just!). The timber floor insert fitted like a glove and keeps the bikes that little bit elevated which I think is a good thing.
The unit itself is very robust, but it is big so make sure you have enough space to accommodate both the unit and the open doors (and a bit more to manoeuvre your bikes in and out easily).
Ours now boasts an LED light and a built in alarm as well. We have managed to store two road bikes, a fat bike and a 29er in the unit - it does help to remove the pedals on the road bikes though to make it a bit easier.
In summary, its a great British product, made with care and attention and once built offers the best protection I think you can ask for without using bricks and mortar. I hope it lasts as long as it looks it will and the cats love sliding off the lid!
It's everything we wanted it to be. Solid, unobtrusive, easily accommodates 4 large bikes and, even for a DIY ignoramus, it was easy to put up. Very happy with it
Great product easy to erect Review by Nick
WOW, what a brilliant product. I now have use of my garage again!
Outstanding Value and Security Review by Kev
Straight forward to assemble, ideally have two people. Built quality is spot on, yes you do need a nice strong level base to ensure everything is in line when you close the lid.
I have an XL 27.5 mountain bike and it fits fine along with my road bike and two other children's bikes, tools, spares, pump, work stand and more.
I great purchase I would highly recommend.
Good points are that no one is going to break into this easily - very well made, with good padlocks, and smart looking. It will last a lifetime, and the internal shelves and floor are sturdy.
Secure - but doesn't fit bikes very easily Review by Jane
But it really doesn't fit in 4 full-sized bikes, let alone 29ers, as claimed. Perhaps if you have very small frame sizes too, but I have a large 29er, a medium sized hybrid bike and two teenager mtbs, and it is like a game of Tetris every time to get them in or out. The trouble is the sloped roof angle means that only the tallest bike can only fit at the back, and the shelves reduce leeway to store, and then there is a complicated way I have to wiggle handlbars, wheels, pedals, etc to try to squeeze in the other bikes.
So three bikes would be a more realistic capacity for this (or 4 children's bikes), which makes it a bit of a disappointing and frustrating purchase.
Very happy with our purchase. We bought it to move bikes out of our side shed which was unusably full, now the kid's bikes are approaching full size. It is very sturdily built, and has loads of space, but is narrow enough to fit down the side of our house. Can fit 4 bikes (with careful packing) and the kids have no problems getting their bikes in an out by themselves.
Great Bike storage solution Review by Kaz
We bought the shelves and locks too and would recommend them.
Strongly recommend you getting it built for you - it is very quick when they do it!!
- After moving house and no longer having a garage (after 12 years), I researched what was available to keep my bikes secure. I would love to have purchased a six or seven bike shed but I'm renting currently so only had space for the four bike shed.
Delivery was on time - drivers were very courteous. It took about 2 hours to assemble, mainly on my own but with a little help from my wife (to hold the panels straight). It was pretty straightforward.
I have four bikes stored (two of which are kids bikes - a 20" and a 24"). I need to retrieve my wife's bike from storage but I think with a bit of neat arranging I'll squeeze hers in as well (until my son's gets upgraded and then we'll have a problem).
The quality seems good and I'm happy that our bikes are safe. Mine's the green and thinks it looks ok and not the eyesore that my wife was expecting.
I'm sure it will get many year's use unless I eventually upgrade to a bigger Asgard shed :)
We bought 3 of these for our guests, so ease of use and security were a priority.
Excellent product, recommended Review by Mostyn Cottage
Easy to put together, and very sturdy, so no fear of it being broken into.
Room inside for the 4 bikes, just make sure you load them properly.
Good quality product, with good customer service, recommended.
Fantastic product, don't waste your money on anything else as this really is a great cycle store, not only this but you would really struggle to find better service than that from Asgard, I can't recommend this product and company enough!
Excellent product and service Review by Tim
This bike store has been a great buy and holds my four cycles securely. Everything about the way the store has been designed and manufactured oozes quality.
Outstanding Value and Security Review by Rob West Lothian
I particularly like the way the padlocks are protected by metal shrouds and this makes the store feel very secure. I also opted for the optional shelves, hooks and floor and this provides loads of useful storage space and keeps the bikes off the ground.
When purchasing, I opted for the installation service. the technician was very courteous and did a brilliant job quickly and efficiently. He also demonstrated how to move the shelves and hooks and general operation.
My wife has a metal cycle store from another well known manufacturer and, in my opinion, the Asgard store seems much better and more secure.
Great security addition to anyone who hasn't got storage space in the house or garage. I now have no worries about leaving £5 grands worth of bikes as I know they are secure.
Great securityproduct, no need to worry over bike theft anymore Review by Rob
One or two watch outs, you need a good quality, long shaft screw driver to drive in the screws holding the panels together. The instructions say you need a level base.......and you definitely do otherwise the lid doesn't sit quite right and locking is a problem.
